Xy Lee
Xy Lee (1996–2019) was a self-taught Hmong singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist who emerged as a beloved international star across the global Hmong diaspora. Known for his vocal talent, original Hmong love songs, and acoustic guitar and keyboard performances, Lee built a large global following, accumulating tens of thousands of YouTube subscribers and millions of views on his music videos. He frequently contributed to his community by performing at regional events, such as annual Hmong New Year celebrations, and volunteering to sing for mental health clients at local organizations like The Fresno Center. His career was tragically cut short at age 23 in November 2019, but his music continues to be remembered and celebrated within contemporary Hmong pop culture.
