Tou Ly Vangkhue
Tou Ly Vangkhue (also known as Tub Lis Vamkhwb) is an iconic Hmong-American singer and composer who emerged in the 1980s as one of the earliest pioneers of modern Hmong pop music. His vocal style and evocative songwriting helped shape the era's Hmong musical movement, producing widely recognized classics such as "Tshaj Qhov Hais Tau," "Kuv Tsis Tau Koj," "Yog Sij Hawm Tig Tau Rov Qab," and "Tu Siab Kuv Nyob Deb". Over four decades, Vangkhue's work has played a central role in preserving Hmong language and storytelling through song across the global diaspora. In recognition of his lasting influence on Hmong arts and culture, he was featured in Fresno State's Hmong Voices Series in 2018, where he was celebrated as a foundational figure whose music continues to inspire generations of Hmong listeners and modern artists.
