General Vang Pao

He led the Hmong Special Guerrilla Units in defending the highlands, disrupting the Ho Chi Minh Trail, rescuing downed American pilots, and gathering intelligence — a role that made him the highest?ranking Hmong officer in Lao history and a central figure in U.S. operations in Laos. After the fall of Laos in 1975, he helped organize the Hmong exodus to Thailand and the United States, later becoming a key community leader in American Hmong diaspora life.
